Corn Rugs

We are way past April 22nd, which is the Earth Day, but I still can’t keep myself from thinking “green”. I have searched far and wide to find “green” solutions for my home requirements because it’s the least I could do to help Mother Earth recuperate from the harsh damages brought about by human lifestyle. It’s a good thing that there are individuals involved in the home industry who promote products — from cleansers to lighting fixtures and accents — that are made from either renewable sources or recycled materials. These days, there is already a green alternative to almost any home product. Yes, these green products can be slightly costly than the standard variety, but it is such a small price to pay compared to the results they can bring. I just hope that there will be more homemakers like me who are willing to pay an extra amount as a contribution to save the environment.

Anyway, I saw another fresh “green” idea featured on Kathy’s blog: corn area rugs. If you are looking for a nice floor accent, go for area rugs that are made of this widely-produced crop. The United States is one of the largest producers of corn and surely, it has enough supply to provide adequate floor covering for your home.
