If I am having a bad day just like today, nothing can pacify me better than a good home find such as this period table featured on Funfurde’s blog. I don’t necessarily have to buy what I have seen— just looking at interesting home accents alone already takes away my anger and blues. I don’t know; being a passionate homemaker is probably the trigger. It’s either that or I’m just a plain shopaholic. Whatever the reason may be, what matters is that I have an easy solution to lighten up my mood and control my rising temper.
Anyway, the period table I was talking about earlier is such an exciting living room accent with its classy aura and modern elegance. Its dwarflike base is made of powder-coated steel while the top is made of tempered glass. If ever I have the need and the money to get it, I will probably put it as a centerpiece in my modernist living room. It will surely make for a nice accent to my fire place along with my hand-tiered sofa, and my floor standing lamp. Well, come to think of it, it will also look good in my bedroom. It is easy to mix with other furnishings because it doesn’t look too old or too modern.

Ever since I found the passion for designing and remodeling my house, I always make extra effort in sparing some time to look around and see what’s hip and hot in the home décor arena. This is to make sure that I don’t go out of style even when I am following my husband and children’s preferred themes. I also have a common room with no particular theme for houseguests that pay visits every once in a while. That specific area was designed based solely on my taste and not on anybody else’s.
LB’s blog meanwhile, said that it is important to consider the specific needs and requirements of the members of the family when designing or remodeling a room or the whole house for that matter. While there are young children around, it would be ideal to design your home in a child-friendly way, which will suit their unruly and raucous behavior. You can make your kid’s room playful while encouraging them to be creative by installing magnetic boards and blackboards in their rooms. You can be creative as well in choosing the pieces of furniture you will bring into your home by determining the four Ws— who, what, when, where.

If you are the type who loves taking the road less traveled— ergo, going for the unique and the extraordinary— I have a treat for you. Carole’s blog posted an interesting find that will surely make your eyes glimmer. It is a one-of-a-kind pink patio bench that is as unique as benches can get. It is a perfect seating piece for summer, especially while your garden flowers are all abloom and also makes for such a comfy company during winter with its illustrious look. It has a charming splash of bright color that certainly makes for an endearing sight whatever the weather is. This patio furniture is truly an interesting piece to mix with any patio style— it is classy, sleek, and hot!
I know of a friend with an insatiable taste for anything uncommon and figured that this pink bench would make her go, “Wow.” I was not disappointed; upon hearing about the bench, she asked her home help to clear a special place for it in her patio. I heard she is currently enjoying her purchase. In fact, somebody told me that she spend most of her early morning and late afternoons lounging on her new pink bench!

Sometimes, we become all too hung up in decorating the upper parts of our house (from the walls and way up to the ceiling) that we tend to forget what a nice, sparkling floor could bring us. Beautifying the flooring should be as much of a concern to us as purchasing the most elegant set of furniture. After all, stepping into elegance is a good start in making a nice impression. For that, 24/7Talk Interior Design’s blog has an answer: Karndean’s ceramic collection. This vinyl manufacturer is taking their business into a whole new level by offering flooring that has both the beauty and charm of ceramics and the affordability and manageability of vinyl tiles.
The ceramic collection is available in six endearing colors that range from espresso to mocha. They are designed to perfection but are easy on the budget. Likewise, this charming flooring ceramics does not give you those irreparable ugly cracks. With that said, this ceramic collection is really more practical to use than the original variety. Throw in a nice set of handcrafted area rugs and elegant floor carpets in the equation and you’re surely creating an interesting stepping stone towards having a fabulous niche.

It is always enriching to find interesting items that help in protecting our badly-damaged environment. Eco-friendly home products— from furniture down to cleaners— made available worldwide contribute a lot in the recovery of Mother Earth from the harsh injuries it has obtained through the years. In my opinion, patronizing such products is the least we can do to help. I hope everybody will find it in their hearts to contribute in saving our environment while we have the time and the opportunity to do so. You may want to try the featured eco-friendly finds in Belle Vivir’s blog while you’re at it. They are all stylish and promote everything organic and natural.
I love the look of a table featured there that has a tree-shaped top and looked like it was just cut out of a huge trunk. Interestingly, the materials used in that table came from a fallen down trunk, which means that nothing was killed and nothing was taken down. Aside from nice tables that will surely look good in your patio, there are also lamps made of organic crystals there. The lamps are as equally gorgeous as any ordinary one (if not more) and are made of natural materials, which is all that matters. If you are looking for environment-friendly substitutes, this blog is a good source.

I love staying outdoors with my family, that’s why I make sure that my patio is well-tended. No matter what kind of weather there is, as long as it is manageable enough, we make it a point to bond in our stylish patio. Our favorite activity is eating and that’s what you will mostly catch us doing there.
If it’s summer, we love basking in the sun and eating our meals in our exquisite picnic table. Summer gives us the most opportunity to spend time outdoors because it’s the only time we can have it really hassle-free. If the sun’s too hot and no longer skin friendly, there’s an outdoor pavilion we can run to for shade. At night, we arrange for barbecue parties either with us alone or with other friends and relatives. But that does not mean we don’t know how to chill out in the patio as well. We also go camping in our garden when it’s snowy outside using our most comfortable, heat insulator tent. My husband and children are satisfied as long as you serve them with good food to eat.
Speaking of good food, I stumbled upon these interesting plates in LHT’s blog recently and thought they will look stunning for our summer picnics. Check them out, you might like them as well.

Stop thinking that young children will just embrace the kind of design you use in his/her room. Kids have a mind of their own as well and since we are talking about their private hole in the house, what they have in mind and what they really want should be your top considerations. As the Kids Furniture blog suggested, think about the theme your child wants to use in his/her bedroom based on his/her character, interests, favorites, etc. You can also simplify this task by asking your kid straight away. Inquiring what theme he/she wants to follow in his/her bedroom will help you ensure that you are on the right track. From there, you will get a clear view of what you will need in decorating the room —- from the wall paints and fabrics to the bedroom furniture and accessories. Everything should flow naturally once you have determined your designing goal. Don’t worry, there are many furniture stores that are equipped with the right stuff for any kind of theme, so you won’t have a hard time putting things together. Your real challenge is actually creating the feel of your child’s chosen theme in every corner of his/her private bedroom.

Coasters are stylish ways to protect your coffee table from ugly rings created when you constantly put glassware on the table top. Although you are careful enough not to drip, you will still get those awful circles, which any ordinary wipe or polish cannot eliminate. By getting a set of stylish coasters, you are not only preserving the beauty of your living room furniture but also making a fashionable statement. However, this can only be true if you know the right material to use and the right store to get them.
The Modish blog shared a similar fondness for coasters and offered a couple of ideas when buying a set. The blogger used to be a fan of cardboard coasters but realized later on that they don’t make for great table protection because they get all wrinkly after a while. The solution– a marble tiled variety! Elsewares keep a somewhat sleek set in alluring retro designs. Photographic prints sell like hotcakes these days and you could get loads of them from the store. If you are not satisfied with their designs, you have a lot of other options. The Internet is a fairly good source of numerous specialty stores where you can find interesting coasters you can use in your home.

End tables are not only stylish but also functional. Their purpose is to serve as a fitting prop for any gorgeous-looking table lamp. Generally, end tables are made to provide a suitable place where you can put down your drink, the current book you are reading, and any other thing that you have with you as you drop yourself onto the nearest chair. Whether you are putting a chair, a stool, a bench, or a sofa in your living room, bedroom, and even in the patio, it is paramount to have it accompanied with a suitable table.
Abbey Koplovitz’s blog has a couple of elegant small tables made by famous furniture designer Pierce Martin. They come handy in small spaces where the comfy leather sofa is just too huge to put anything of the big variety. Remember that a chair seldom works without an accompanying table. We’ve all had problems with our chairs taking too much space. Well, the problem is solved; those Pierce Martin small end tables can serve their purpose well without requiring too much floor area. Mind you, they are elegant enough to surpass the charm of your prized seating pieces. So if you want to dot your living room with end tables, go with the ones by Pierce Martin.

A clean and neat looking kitchen is made possible with integrated appliances. You’ve heard about integrated refrigerators, which can easily make for a nice accent when hidden under a stylish kitchen door. They have the same power as ordinary fridges but is more advantageous when it comes to appearance. Integrated refs look good in the kitchen when given proper treatments.
Anyway, Renomart’s blog posted yet another integrated appliance, this time it’s a huge dishwasher. The 900mm beauty can be disguised under a kitchen door and still carry its duty efficiently. If you choose to flaunt it, you will have no problem as well with its sleek stainless steel surface. Hidden or not, the important thing is it can do its job well enough to free you from dish-washing headaches.
This integrated dishwasher by Electrolux can keep your dinnerware, eating utensils, and cookwares clean in a single pile. What’s more, it has an automatic sensor that keeps you informed with the water’s cleanliness. If it detects that your dishes are not clean enough after the first round of cleaning, it will perform another round of dish-washing automatically. I love kitchen appliances like this integrated dishwasher because they make life easy while providing charm in my own kitchen.
