Cork Made Fashionable

Helping nature recover from the harsh effects of human behavior is a good idea that everyone should adhere to. Preferring to use nature-friendly items than the destructive ones more frequently is a nice way to compensate for the harm that we have done to our environment. If you are worried that the available items you can use to help save Mother Nature are less attractive, your problem is solved! Nicole Fraise’s blog related a handful of reasons you should consider cork-made items equally fashionable. Not only do corks make for a powerful wine preservation tool and a functional board, but also can be figured in numerous fashionable home accents.

A nice and simple wine cork trivet can certainly do the job as any metal or stainless steel trivet does. It can even appear a lot more appealing because it is out of the ordinary. The same way with cork-upholstered chairs. Furniture manufacturers luckily find a way to convert a seemingly ordinary product of nature to a functional and funky home fixture. To help them realize their goal in producing earth-friendly goods, we, as consumers, should do our part by patronizing their sincere efforts. We don’t have to sacrifice our style by doing so, anyway!

Bedroom Ideas for Stylish Homes

To make your bedroom truly a haven, you must pick the right things that go into it. Never compromise comfort for a sum of cash because in the long run, you will realize that a cozy bedroom is all that matters. Michael M’s blog suggested a handful of wonderful ideas that you can adapt to make your bedroom a comfortable, stylish space you would love spending time on. They may be quite heavy on the price tag but are worth looking nevertheless.

Platform beds with their minimalist, ultra modern design are currently the ‘in’ things of the moment. They take less space but are not short on charm as well. Also, upon looking around online shops that carry a couple of stylish bedroom furniture, you will notice that wood is highly preferred than its metal counterpart. That’s probably because wood furnishings are easier to mix and match than metal finished ones. Interior designers nowadays have particular biases on earth colors, making them the favored style in most homes. They made brown and moss green look modern when paired with other home accents rather than the usual combination of silvers and blues. When will chrome finished metal bedsteads and bedroom accents come back to its glory days? That we’ll have to see.

Dust Prevention

Allergens pose serious health risks. While you can not control the amount of these health-damaging molecules your family absorbs when they are out, you can easily prevent these irritants from penetrating the household. The Everyday Home’s blog posted by LB provided some tips for clean living, which she read from a source.

Chic carpets and floor mats are good accents to any home. However, they are also a good source of dust. If you can not do without them, better clean them thoroughly more often. Washing will help elevate the dust mites, pollen, and mold that have piled up on the fiber. You may also want to replace your ever-fashionable blinds, which is a trigger for dust buildup, with shades. Your air conditioning unit is another culprit that needs attention. Make sure that the vents are covered with a piece of cloth to prevent the dust from coming out. Lastly, put away unnecessary things. Less clutter would mean less place for the dust to settle. Do away with a few things you can clean regularly than risk your family’s respiratory health. Keeping dust under control is a challenging task, especially if you keep quite a roomy place for it to accumulate.

Funky Lamps

Fashionable table lamps are such a joy to include in any picturesque living room. They could add splendor and spice, both of which are good things. The Decorating Princess’s blog posted something about a table lamp mod she watched on television. The idea is to create an impression of a lamp placed upside down. As I was reading the guideline on putting it up, I can say that it was a pretty easy home improvement strategy that any passionate homemaker could do in a no sweat fashion.

To achieve the same effect, you can hang an ordinary light bulb from your ceiling until it is close to the top surface of your contemporary end table or whatever you have in the room. Make sure that you allot enough space for a stylish vase to go in between. The vase will serve as the bulb’s groundwork and that’s it. This is a better alternative than buying another funky table lamp just so you could create a different aura in your living room. By employing the mod lamp, you will no longer have to shed cash for a nice new accent. Come to think of it, creativity is priceless and that’s all you need to enjoy a stylish abode.

Stylish Fireplaces

In a country where most states experience winter in the greater part of the year, a fireplace is a necessity. But since it takes a good chunk of your interiors, why not convert your fireplace to become a splendid accent without taking away its main purpose? That’s the idea that Mark Cutler’s blog wanted to impart.

To make the most out of your fireplace, do away with less clutter. A fireplace is an ornament in itself and your task is just to enhance its beauty. Putting too many things will do more harm than good. Go for quality rather than quantity. Make sure that the things you will put in as a mantle are good enough to add up on the attractiveness of your fireplace. A good painted wall could even be sufficient. However, if you find yourself pressed to put a thing or two, go for decors that don’t take too much attention, overshadowing the fireplace in the end. A suitable frame can do wonders more than you could imagine. Also take note of the pieces of furniture that you are going to employ in the area. It is ideal that you choose a living room set, which will complement the design of your fireplace.

The Outdoor Beauty

Keeping an attractive outdoor landscape is important in creating good impressions. When guests flock to your home, they will usually examine the first thing that catches their sight before looking through the insides of the house. Your front yard is what greets them upon arrival so keeping it stylish and clean all the time should be your major concern. Green Builder50’s blog suggested the use of railway sleepers to fill in particular open spaces in your yard for a functional and fashionable result.

The old but usable sleepers, usually made of wood, are great accents that will add beauty to any outdoor. They can make a good walkway towards the front door, the backyard, and other areas in the surrounding. You may also use them as pond enclosures and wall retainers. The railway sleepers are made to last. They are durable and can stand any weather. By using them as a landfill in your garden, you are assured that the beauty they have created will go down the line.

You can easily play your style around the railway sleepers. Its wood finish is a great focal point that can command the scheme of your garden. To load up on charm, add nice pieces of outdoor furnishings like a comfy rattan love seat, a fancy fountain artwork, and a stylish patio lighting.

Color Your Room

Color adds zest to any space. Painting or repainting rooms is a good chance to preserve their appeal. Tim Lee’s blog offered tips on how to carry out this task, the DIY way, successfully.

The biggest challenge in painting the room is choosing the color that you will use. To give you a quick start, you need to examine the existing entities in the room — your window’s treatments, your pieces of furniture, your wall decors, etc. — and make them the basis of the color you are going to buy. If you are painting a fresh new space, this would be easier because your paint color can command the scheme.

Next, decide on the shades that you will use for the wains coat or whatever trimmings your wall have. You may use the very same color of the larger surface or use a contrasting color to add some flavor. Also, keep in mind that there are colors that can make a room appear darker and smaller or otherwise. Make your color complement the room’s lighting fixture to achieve the particular effect that you want. To create a spacious imprint, meanwhile, avoid warm colors like oranges and reds and use blues and violets instead.

Bathroom Makeover

The bathroom must be updated every once in a while to keep its appeal. It is the place where you spend most of your private time to rest, relax, and de-stress so it is just right that you maintain its beauty. That’s what Niall Roche’s blog talked about in the latest entry. According to Niall, the first step towards giving your bathroom a beautiful makeover is careful planning. You need to picture out first how you want it to appear after the upgrade is done and how much you will be spending for this purpose.

Take note of the bathroom fixtures you want to add up or some of the old sets that you want to be replaced. Bathroom lighting will do big in your remodeling. It can define the style that you are imposing by simply changing the units that are currently installed so it is probably wise to focus your attention on this element. Also, you may want to replace your bathroom vanity shelf with a trendier one as well as your ever-friendly bath tub. A crisp bathroom organizer is inspiring while a nice bath tub will help you drown all the negative energies and everyday worries that your mind piles up in a stylish fashion. Pick your clue from these three elements and you are on a roll!

Platform Beds In Style

A stylish wood platform bed is the subject of Graham Hill’s blog. The Atlantico bed, he said, is created for lovers of minimalist designs. Its basic material is solid wood and its design looks very neat. It may be plain and simple but you can not possibly underestimate its elegance as well. This modernized bed is comfortable, trendy, and is of high quality, a perfect substitute to the glamorous styles of feather beds  and elaborate metal bedsteads. The product is obviously made carefully, keeping all unnecessary details away from the eyesight. Screws and other metal works are fabulously concealed within the boundaries of the woodwork.

I appreciate the bed in a sense that it is introducing a brand new way of embracing wooden furnitures, specifically in the bedroom. There is nothing more exciting in window shopping for the latest trends in home furnishings than being able to get a cool view of what the manufacturers consistently do to achieve elegance and a distinctive character that will separate their products from the rest. That is good news to all shoppers like us because we are given lots of choices, lots of opportunities that we can adapt when styling our homes.

Skewered Treats

A barbecue party is an enjoyable activity that is best done when the sun is up or at least, when the climate is pleasant and no heavy rainfall is in the horizon. It is possible to cook skewered treats indoors, at the comfort of your kitchen, especially if you’ve got an efficient exhaust but for me that means less fun. Merry Strong’s blog offered a nice new idea that will add more fun in eating skewered food — the seasoned skewers.

The seasoned skewer, which comes in a variety of flavors, is a product of creativity by an expert in the food industry who believes that spicing up a dish on the outside is insufficient. For good food to be experienced and enjoyed, it should be seasoned inside and out. That is the basic idea of this masterpiece. Instead of an ordinary skewer, you will use the seasoned skewer for any type of food that you may want to pile up, leave for a couple of minutes to let the flavors seep through, and cook in any way you want — on an open campfire, a powerful stovetop, a grill, or even in your conventional oven. This will surely create a delightful difference in the way you previously held your barbecue parties or in eating skewered food altogether.
